This remarkable art project from a few years back continues to live in our mind.
A group called Exobiotanica led by Azuma Makoto launched both a bonsai tree and an elaborate bouquet of flowers up to a height of more than 30,000 meters on a weather balloon.
The Japanese group traveled to the Black Rock Desert in Nevada to launch the balloons, which carefully held aloft the cargo in a custom-made wire harnesses.
When the balloons were released, they quickly rose to nearly 100,000 feet, at the very upper limit of the atmosphere, giving an amazing view of the earthâs curvature.
With an attached GoPro camera, the bouquetâs ascent and subsequent tumble was captured, giving us amazing views of flowers from this vantage point.
