Mahindra’s BE 6 Batman Edition EV: Not the Batmobile you expected, but close enough

When you picture the Batmobile, you probably imagine rocket boosters, grappling hooks, and a suspicious disregard for parking tickets.

What Mahindra has delivered instead is the BE 6 Batman Edition EV SUV.

And while it won’t chase down villains in Gotham, it might just be the most approachable Batmobile ever built.

An EV Under the Cape

The Batman Edition rides on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, packing a 79 kWh battery, a single rear motor with 286 horsepower, and nearly 682 kilometers of range. In other words, plenty of juice to patrol the city, but more in line with school runs than high-speed rooftop chases.

Styled for Gotham Suburbs

The SUV is wrapped in satin black with gloss-black trim and gold Bat emblems scattered across the fenders, bumper, wheels, and tailgate. Gold-painted brake calipers and suspension springs add flair, while puddle lamps shine the Bat signal on the pavement.

The panoramic roof even carries a subtle Bat emblem, just in case you forgot whose car this is supposed to be.

The Dark Knight’s Interior

Inside, things lean into cosplay luxury. Charcoal suede and leatherette with gold stitching, embossed Bat logos on the seats, and a special edition plaque on the dash all hammer the point home.

Fire it up and you’re greeted with a custom Batman-inspired startup sequence and sound — though sadly, not Christian Bale’s growl of “I’m Batman.”

Limited Run, Fast Sellout

Originally set for 300 units, Mahindra boosted production to 999. It didn’t matter. All were gone in 135 seconds. At around $32,000, it is more affordable than Bruce Wayne’s garage, though you’ll need serious luck to snag one.

A Batmobile for the Rest of Us

No, it isn’t jet-powered. No, it won’t drive up walls. But the BE 6 Batman Edition shows how culture and clean tech can collide in fun ways.

For once, you don’t need to be a billionaire vigilante to own a Batmobile, just a quick internet connection and $32k to spare.
