If you’ve ever had a Koosh Ball as a kid, you can imagine how immersive this enormous, oversized gallery installation might be.
The huge, multi-colored toy balls are made from over 4,000 rubber filaments, which protrude at just the right angles to become fun, touchable spheres.
The work of Quin Hollow, the installation includes over 60 of the jumbo-sized kid’s toys, suspended at different heights to allow for interaction.
Slightly more rigid than the toy version, the rubber filaments are nonetheless highly reactive to motion, and interaction is encouraged, allowing patrons to play with the giant spheres as they’d like.
Taking place at the Roxboro Gallery in Portland, Oregon, the show is on display until August 12.
