Who knew the humble audio cassette was going to get so much respect in 2025?
This brightly colored ‘Barbiecore’ cassette player from We Are Rewind shows us just how far the retro-tech craze has come.
Their latest pink and teal player has the bold colors from the 1980s, but is made from aluminum, giving it a much more durable build than plastic models.
In addition, it offers a lithium battery with 12 hours of playback, as well as bluetooth, allowing for easier listening without the cords.
The player even comes with throwback-style foam headphones, which connect with bluetooth.
While we got rid of our cassette collection decades ago, we know there are purists and enthusiasts that have held onto theirs, as well as new listeners who prefer the analog sound and tactile nature of physical media.
