Photographers and their models often go to great lengths, and far-flung locations to capture the perfect image. Photographer Steve Haining and model Ciara Antoski just set a new world record in pursuit of their perfect shots.
Diving 163 feet down to the wreck of the Hydro Atlantic shipwreck off the coast of Florida, the two created a series of amazing images, with Antoski posing on the bow of the ship in a flowing blue dress.
Diving with experts, the two were breathing specialized oxygen and helium to deal with the intense pressure of the depths. Antoski had to endure the cold of the deep Atlantic without diving equipment on, which required practice, and resilience.
Using powerful torch lights to illuminate his figure, Haining has created a series that feels wondrous and mysterious.
And following the shoot, the dive was officially recognized by Guinness as the world’s deepest underwater photoshoot.
