While on the surface, this luxury excursion from the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler seems amazing, the more you ponder it, the harder it gets to justify.

Visiting a glacier is indeed a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The act of visiting one from a premium, five star hotel, where the guest most certainly traveled first class, becomes an unsustainable prospect.
The private helicopter alone brings a carbon footprint that further endangers the glaciers themselves.

After a scenic journey by snowmobile or tracked machine, guests are eased into the experience with glacier-side massages, naturally, before proceeding into the ice cave itself for a tasting of Dom Pérignon and Kristal caviar, thoughtfully overseen by a personal attendant.
Weather permitting, this entirely reasonable four-hour affair accommodates up to four guests.

The most painful part of the experience may be the price, which costs $19,999 for four people, weather dependent.

Enjoying a massage, mountainside.
What are your thoughts on such a luxurious, but divisive excursion?

Enjoying champagne and a meal in the admittedly beautiful glacier cave,

The idea is fascinating, the reality leaves a lot to be desired.
