
This huge, 20-foot detailed tapestry of the world now hangs in Heathrow airport, brightening up one of the busiest airports in the world.
Created by Vanessa Barragão, she used a myriad of techniques to get this vibrant, textured effect, including latch hooking, felt needling, carving, crochet, and more. It took her well over 500 hours of work to achieve this effect. The world map shows the deserts of Africa, the jungles of South America, and the vibrant blue seas that span the globe.
