In this fascinating, dynamic installation, Studio Drift employs moving blocks to respond to participant’s movement, mimicking the way birds or bees might flock or move together.
Highly sophisticated, each of the 60 mechanized blocks are autonomously and algorithmically programmed to follow the participant, or scatter in their presence.
Entitled “Murmuring Minds” it was part of DRIFT’s Living Landscape exhibition, which took place at LUMA Arles, in France. We’ve always loved interactive art and sculpture, and DRIFT is one of the best at it.
