We’re taken by the strange yet gorgeous sculptural creatures that make up Spencer Hansen’s collection, entitled Tethered Worlds.

By combining wood, ceramic, bone, steel and fur together, the characters in his collection feel vaguely tribal, but also vaguely alien, an aesthetic we could look at for a long time.

The ridged designs and repeated patterns have a lovely tactile nature, and range from six inches, to several feet tall.

Hansen resides in Bali, and has a truly impressive collection. See more on his website.

We love the ridged nature of the designs, and repeated patterns.

Hansen’s characters have a tribal and often alien look and feel.

All entirely hand formed, sculptures are weeks or even months in the making.

Using wood, steel, bone, ceramic and even fur, the forms have a timeless quality.

This four armed character is charming to behold.

This alien skeleton fellow is a bit less charming, but equally fascinating.

The repeated ridges and gold aesthetic makes these figures highly covetable.
