
After a very cold winter, the ice has left the Great Lakes, and made for an exceptionally clear Lake Michigan. The Coast Guard has seen a large number of shipwrecks in the brilliantly clear waters of the enormous lake, some dating from the early 1800s. I’ve been lucky enough to both fly low over the lake and snorkel around some of the shipwrecks, and can testify to the incredible vastness of the lake, and the treasures it holds. Via NPR:
