Climate change is wreaking havoc in various parts of the globe, and Brazil has been feeling the effects of severe flooding in recent days.

With more than 100 people killed and 200,000 displaced, the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Southern Brazil has been inundated with punishing rains and flooding.

“Caramelo” the horse has become the face of this recent flooding, with dramatic images of the horse perched on the roof of small barns, as floodwaters reached the very peaks of the roof.

See the images below of the horse, who was eventually rescued by dedicated personnel.
