Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered for generations, and in the UK, her cultural and monarch importance is being celebrated with a memorial bridge in London.
A range of top architectural and design firms have submitted proposals for the memorial. Heatherwick Studio’s design is our favorite, with a dramatic form called the Bridge of Togetherness.
The design is a collaboration between Heatherwick and sculptor Halima Cassell, landscape designers MRG Studio and engineering studios Webb Yates and Arup.
Eight uniquely sculptural lilies surround a sculpture of the Queen, which is located in St James’s Park.
Additional designs for a bridge memorial have been submitted by Foster + Partners and WilkinsonEyre.
