This elegant installation in a Japanese Forest is comprised of 14,000 prescription lenses, which bring a fascinating quality of light and reflection to it.  Entitled “A Whisper in the Eye of the Storm“, the thousands of lenses both catch and refract light in beautiful ways.

The large circular framing in between trees allows visitors to walk into and interact with the lenses, which hold raindrops, and also magnify the forest around them.

The installation was created for the Northern Alps Art Festival in Omachi City, Japan, which runs until November, 2024, and includes many internationally known artists.

The addition of a tree-ring bench allow visitors to sit and reflect on the artwork, which in of itself gives a sense of reflection.
