In the style of famous still life paintings, Noah Verrier shares us paintings in similar classic styles.
However, the content is much more contemporary. And more unhealthy. Indeed, Verrier’s humorous and charming take on the classic still life includes modern day fast foods like Taco Bell, McDonald’s and Skyline Chili, as well as Spam, Instant Ramen, and Uncrustables (a pre-made peanut butter and jelly monstrosity).
The artist is prolific, with hundreds of paintings that showcase recognizable items, in a charming, down-to-earth manner. The way an oil painting elevates humble foods is fascinating, and it has made Verrier’s work very popular online.
On his Etsy page, he’s sold over 5,500 prints of his work, clearly showing that his work has hit a cultural nerve. Even the New York Times has profiled his paintings, which have sold for thousands of dollars.
