Bangkok is alive with color and smell and sound, but even if you’ve never visited, photographer Xavier Portela  can give you a sense for how the city comes alive in neon light at night. His series #Bangkokglow gives a sense of a steady pulse of life at night as people speed overhead on highways, while street vendors serve all manner of food and drink below. There’s a great continuity of light and color in his images, a steady purple and orange glow that makes these diverse photos all seem part of a family, and gives Bangkok a recognizable night vibe. If “smell-o-vision” were a thing, this post would come alive with the potent and distinct aromas of Thai cuisine and Southeast Asia in general. This series is a follow up to his other “glow” series that focus on Tokyo and Hong Kong, respectively. Great work, via Behance.
