1. Photographer Captures Image of Bobcat Pouncing on Heron Midflight
Photographer Jacob Hall was in coastal Texas when he snapped images of a great blue heron flying from the edge of the water at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge.
It wasn’t until after he took the photos that he realized what had just happened.

2. Photographer Captures Meteor Streaking Into an Active Volcano
Photographer Gunarto Song was taking photos of Mount Merapi, a very active volcano in Indonesia, when something amazing happened.
He witnessed meteors streaking across the sky. And with his camera trained on the volcano, captured in long exposure, a beautifully lit meteor flying directly toward the mouth of Mount Merapi.

From Mario to Stranger Things to Totoro, Japanese artist Raku Inoue shows us great pop culture characters made entirely out of flowers.
The artistry of the likenesses are impressive, with easily-recognizable characters all made from flower petals, blossoms, sticks, and leaves.

Photographer Johannes Plenio gives us a beautifully peaceful and zen-like view of our world, eschewing all of the chaos and grief in the world.
Despite the need to feel connected at all times, we’ve found it’s also highly important to detach, breathe, and enjoy the beauty all around us. Plenio’s work is that, embodied.

6. The Ravenchord is a Radically Redesigned Piano, And We’re Swooning
While the grand piano hadn’t been redesigned for over 300 years, it was ripe for an overhaul. Luckily, it got one in the form of a radical overhaul from design firm Whipsaw. It’s called the Ravenchord.
The striking new shape resembles an outstretched bird wing, and completely overhauls what the idea of a piano can be.

Iceland is known as the land of fire and ice. They’re also known for their famous Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa, which has a high silica content, and gives the waters their trademark blue color.
