Dutch artist and designer Marco Wit has a sculpture that blends the style of a classic bicycle with the effortless wings of a glider.

Named Learning to Fly, the sculpture hearkens back to Wit’s childhood memories of biking around a nearby airforce base, and being inspired by the planes he saw.

The sculpture’s whimsy is tempered by the sleek form, which looks genuinely ready for takeoff, with structural wings and tightly aligned, inline wheels.

Complete with a vintage-style LTF (Learning to Fly) badge, the sculpture has a powerful yet nostalgic grace to it.
