It’s fair to say the pace of robotic evolution has been very high recently. From humanoid robots starting to enter home use, to factories using more and more sophisticated robots, the progress is impressive.
But it’s groundbreaking concepts like this one from Kawasaki that feel especially next-level.
Called CORLEO, this four-legged robot concept is revealed as part of the Expo 2025 Osaka.

Cross between an off-road capable motorcycle and a horse, CORLEO is a hydrogen-powered robot that a user rides, on, much like they would an equine animal.

With adaptive hooves, advanced articulation, and sophisticated gyroscopes, CORLEO is able to carry adults at high speeds across rugged terrain, much like a horse might.
A high-tech control panel and augmented projections at night give the metal beast the ability to traverse tricky landscapes in any lighting conditions.
The hydrogen powertrain gives CORLEO a silent and emissions-free operation.
Strictly a high-tech concept, this robotic, horse-like machine nevertheless makes for a fascinating study into how we might get around in the future.
