What do you get when biotech meets high fashion? Apparently, a handbag made from lab-grown Tyrannosaurus rex leather.

Thanks to a wild collaboration between VML, Lab-Grown Leather Ltd., and The Organoid Company, prehistoric style just got a futuristic twist.

Using synthetic DNA inspired by fossilized T. rex collagen, scientists cooked up a new kind of leather—bioengineered, biodegradable, and completely dino-free.

While some experts raise eyebrows at the science (after all, dino DNA is more fantasy than fossil), the handbag is very real—and it’s expected to drop later this year.

It’s sustainable, cruelty-free, and looks ready to stomp down a runway or two.
