On top of the cost, you’ll need to make sure that you are going to be able to charge your EV sufficiently. More and more charging points are cropping up around the place, and they are becoming faster, but bear in mind that you can’t yet just simply get to a full charge in a few minutes. So you will need to make sure you have the full charge for your journey, or you’ll have to think about some of the ways in which you can make this work.

All that being said, electric vehicles work well and they are smooth to drive and incredibly quiet. And above all, they are so much more sustainable on the planet, so you could safely say you were doing your part if you drove an EV. If you can’t yet get an EV, you might consider a hybrid in the meantime instead, as that is still going to be better than a traditional vehicle.
