When we think of white, puffy clouds, the typical, pillowy cloud shapes come to mind. Artist Hayden Clay strays from that familiarity, giving us soft and floaty clouds that take perfect cube and rectangle forms.

Beyond just clouds, Clay explores the idea of houses and neighborhoods, in his now-familiar pastel and dreamlike aesthetic.

In ‘Cul de sac’, we see cookie cutter homes arranged in perfect swirling patterns, giving almost a whirlwind aesthetic.

The dreamlike style can seem both calming and disorienting, and Clay uses those feelings to great affect, giving us a sense of calm unease.
