It’s hard to see these playful, irreverent furniture designs and not smile. The work of Italian designer Emanuele Magini, our small selection of his vast catalog of chairs include Lazy Football, Lazy Basketball, Maracana, and Anish, all of which have a sense of delight and wonder to them.
With Lazy Football and Lazy Basketball, the chairs have been manipulated to involve a netted area, allowing them to be used for casual indoor sport and goofing off, as well as sitting.
With Maracana, we see almost an indoor stadium seating, decked out in bright green, which can be used as a set of mini bleachers. It transforms into a sleeping arrangement, making it perfect for guests.
Finally, we see Anish, which appears like a huge blue circle encased in brass. It’s not until the stretchy fabric is pushed in that a seat reveals itself.

Lazy Basketball and Lazy Football might actually feel like the opposite of lazy, depending on how actively you use their sporting purpose. We find it hilarious to have a net directly above the seating surface.

Anish is a furniture piece that is visually surprising and memorable, with a hidden seat that is revealed when the user sits within the circular frame.
