Myth: Pet insurance doesn’t cover everything
Many pet owners worry that insurance won’t cover everything, especially routine care or pre-existing conditions. While that’s true in many cases, most insurers now offer wellness add-ons for preventive care like vaccines, dental cleanings, and check-ups, giving you more complete coverage. View Money’s pet insurance list to find plans for as low as $10 a month.
Enormous Animal Energy? Creative Pylons Designed for Austria’s Grid
We see them all over rural landscapes: giant metal pylons, the generic towers that hold up high transmission lines across long distances.
These benign yet uninspired towers are getting a creative overhaul in Austria, thanks to the design by Austrian Power Giants, a project that is part of the larger grid operator. The work includes GP designpartners and Baucon.
The novel concept would utilize 9 giant animal towers in each of the country’s nine federal states.
Designed to both enhance the landscape and bring more tourism to these areas, we find it delightfully unexpected and creative.

Rivian Spinoff Company Announced a Wild New eBike
Rivian is taking its electric brilliance off four wheels and onto two.
Its new offshoot, Also, has unveiled the TM-B, which is a clever modular e-bike that feels more like a piece of precision engineering than a simple commuter.
At its core is DreamRide, a propulsion system that flips convention on its head. Instead of the pedals driving the wheels, they charge the battery as you ride, turning effort into energy.
Fast charging pushes the battery to 80 percent in under two hours, while the top-tier model promises 100 miles of range and a zippy 28-mph top speed.
You don’t need multiple bikes for multiple activities.
The TM-B’s interchangeable top frame lets riders swap between cargo mode, solo cruiser, or full bench setup in seconds. It’s part utility, part play, and very attractive for those that want one bike that can do it all.
This 9 Foot Tall Light Has an Embedded Lava Lamp
When designer Sabine Marcelis teamed up with Mathmos, the original creators of the 1960s lava lamp, the result was less a retro gadget and more a piece of living sculpture.

A Giant (Half-Deflated) Kermit Floats Over Paris
If Paris were a stage, the grand square of Place Vendôme just found its headliner: a 19.75-metre inflatable version of Kermit the Frog, courtesy of Alex Da Corte.
Dropped into the heart of the city as part of Art Basel Paris 2025’s public program (October 20-26), this amphibious icon hovers above the cobbles with arms spread and head sagging, echoing a 1991 drama when a real Kermit balloon snagged on a tree during the Macy’s Parade.

Nature fact of the day

Deep in the forests of Japan, there’s a mushroom that glows an eerie green light, bright enough to read by.
Called Mycena chlorophos, it emits a bioluminescent glow to attract insects that help spread its spores.
The haunting radiance looks otherworldly, like tiny lanterns scattered across the forest floor.
