Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) has a dramatic and elegant design for the upcoming Opera and Ballet Theatre of Kosovo, located in the city of Pristina.

The flowing, undulating roof is inspired by traditional Kosovan skirts, and is clad in photovoltaic tiles, which capture energy, while also providing a beautiful form and material finish.

Inside, the building will have a 1,200-capacity concert hall, a 1,000-capacity theater hall, a 300-seat recital hall and an education and conference center. The interior features dramatic wood slats and a warmly lit performance space, which balances a sense of space with one of intimacy.
