Figure is a robotics company based in California, working on humanoid robots destined for a variety of engineering tasks. They claim that their new F.02 model is the world’s first commercially-viable autonomous humanoid robot.
That means we could see robots like this in a range of applications in our lives before long.
No doubt, the robot is a masterful piece of design and engineering, with a highly refined set of capabilities, and impressive mobility, allowing it to move in a wide array of motions.
The introduction video is worth a look, and gives us a state of the industry at large, as Figure’s humanoid robot is supposedly the most advanced in the world.
Regardless of how impressive the F.02 is, we are also aware of the power of this technology, and find it a bit unnerving, not knowing where it will all lead.
Will humanoid robots become our helpers? Our peers?
