Yes, you could make the argument that wearing an array of solar panels on your head would be a dubious look. But it might be so dorky and practical that it’s actually awesome. Hear us out.

Made by EcoFlow, this foldable wide-brimmed sun hat has embedded solar cells in the brim, which capture enough energy to charge a smartphone or other small device in a few hours.

With 12-watt charging via the integrated USB-A and USB-C chargers, the Power Hat is also IP65 rated, meaning it’s dust and splash resistant. Weighing in at 370 grams, the hat isn’t featherweight, but does sound pretty light considering all of the integrated technology.

Potentially great for sunny hikes, fishing, or sun bathing at the beach, the Power Hat is available in two sizes for pre-order at a discounted $79, with an eventual $129 full price.

How long until we see other solar clothing or attire?
