Imagine a single building so large, it could easily hold 20 Empire State Buildings. This astoundingly huge building in Saudi Arabia, called The Mukaab, was announced in 2023, and some wondered if it were just a showpiece, never to be built.
However, this month, the beginnings of the ground preparation began at the site where the building will take shape. This perfect cube of a building, at 400 meters tall and 400 meters wide, will be by far the largest single building when it completes before 2030. Imagine one of the planet’s tallest buildings, but stretch it so it’s as wide as it is tall. Wild, to say the least.
It plans to feature an interior unlike anything else on the planet, with massive holographic projections and experiences that make visitors feel like they’ve entered different worlds entirely.
The Mukaab is one of several new neighborhoods planned as part of New Murabba, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Screen captures from brief video overviews show massive, organic-looking terraces stacked atop one another in the interior.

The building’s entire interior walls will be display screens, much like The Sphere in Las Vegas, allowing it to showcase anything you can imagine.

Massive fountains show the scale of this enormous project, which will truly be a must-see when it completes in 2030.
