When you think about a cabin in the woods, especially in upstate New York, you probably don’t think about a cutting-edge, 3D-printed cocoon dwelling that was originally planned for Mars habitation. But that’s the idea behind TERA. The design was part of a Mars habitat contest, and lives on in rentable form, thanks to the people at AISpaceFactory.

The ‘cabin’ itself is a tall and narrow 3-D printed form, with diamond shaped windows, and a very efficient use of space. Nestled by the Hudson River, it should provide a very memorable experience. Each rental helps contribute to the group’s scientific and research missions.  The rentals begin next summer, check out more on their Indiegogo page.
